Well after much blood, sweat and tears, my first book is finally ready! I’ve teamed up with the good folks at Fundamental Changes to bring you ‘100 Essential Funk Grooves for Guitar’.
It’s a deep dive into the world of Funk, with an in-depth study of the great Funk guitarists, all the way from Jimmy Nolen up to the present day with players such as Mark Lettieri and Cory Wong.
I’m incredibly excited to share this with the world and help share my love of Funk and what it can do for your playing. In the book we’ll study the many techniques, compositional style and music theory behind one of the most important genres in music.
Not only are there 100 authentic riffs & licks (not just simple pastiches where one or two notes are changed from the original), but there’s a a full explanation of how to empower you to create your own ideas.
Finally, there are lovingly created backing tracks for every single example – this is the one bit I’m most proud of! I hope you have a lot of fun with this book.
