Welcome to Mastering the Diminished! This intensive course on the diminished scale will take you all the way from the basics, all the way through to advanced harmony and soloing with more freedom and intention.

Each module is divided into specific study topics that follow on from one another. You’re welcome to explore the rest of the course, but I’d recommend taking each lesson in order, as they all build upon previous topics. Here in Module 1 we’re discussing the basics of the scale: how it sounds, where you can use it, moveable scale shapes, and scaffolding the diminished scale around familiar blues sounds.

The great thing about this course is that it’s designed to be interchangeable. Almost all of the ideas that are explored here in Module 1 will be transferrable to Module 2 & 3 and vice versa. So look out for the ‘related to’ tabs that are in some lessons, as these will point back to previously studied topics.

This scale has really been a lifelong obsessions for me, so I’m absolutely stoked to share what I know with you!
