Within the previous solo, there’s more explicit resolution to the D chord by using simple root, 3rd and 5th arpeggios (and in bar 8, I’m landing on C#, which gives a D major 7 sound). These arpeggios give a strong, almost Cuban sound, which is again, simple yet very effective for spelling out the chord changes. Here’s a simple example that resolves from the b9 (Bb) into these arpeggios:
